Erasmus students accommodation

The University of Milan provides accommodation for Erasmus students within its university residences. The accommodation offered consists of shared double rooms; single rooms are not available. The cost of accommodation is €300 per month.
The number of available places is limited; rooms are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis until all places are filled.

How to apply for accommodation

Before applying for accommodation, you must have:

  • submitted your Erasmus online application
  • received confirmation of your Erasmus registration, with your official UniMi email address and password.

After completing your Erasmus registration, you will receive instructions on how to apply for accommodation at your new UniMi email address. Please bear in mind the application deadlines indicated below. 

  • For the first semester: 30 June 2026
  • For the second semester: 30 November 2026

The minimum stay is 2 months. Accommodation in the University's Halls of Residence can only be booked for the duration of the Erasmus exchange, as established in the Erasmus agreement between the University of Milan and your home university. Extensions may be granted only upon request, subject to the approval of our International Mobility Office.
Accommodation cannot be requested for single weeks, but only on a monthly basis. 

AAfter applying for accommodation, you will receive an email from our Residence Hall Office at your UniMi email address, with instructions on how to pay the first rent instalment. Payment must be made exclusively via the PagoPA system. 
Upon payment of the first instalment, your booking is confirmed for the entire requested period. 

Within a few days, you will receive the official acceptance letter for the accommodation you have been allocated, also at your UniMi email address.
On the day of your arrival, you will have to present this letter at the residence reception, together with a valid ID, to complete check-in.

Cost of accommodation

The monthly rent is €300. 
Every month, the Residence Hall Office will send you a payment notice for the next rent instalment at your UniMi email address. Each payment is due by the 20th of the month; late payments will not be accepted.  
Please note that  if you fail to check in or cancel your booking, the first rent instalment will not be refunded.
