Selection examinations

To enrol on a course, candidates must possess the entrance qualifications shown in the course announcements (Italian text) published on our website by areas of study, and pass the selection examination. 


Presenting your admission application

Candidates must apply online within the deadline set in the announcements, by first registering to our university website as external users. People already registered to our portal or former student or graduate at the University of Milan can use their previous credentials to apply. 
At the completion of the registration procedure, candidates will receive their login credentials (username and password) to be used in accessing admission and enrolment procedures, as well as guidance and information services.

With their credentials they have then to apply by accessing  the  On line services (SIFA) > Servizi di ammissione > Corsi di perfezionamento. More than one application is allowed.

Candidates must also present to the specific course Secretariat the documents listed below within the deadline indicated in the specific course profile contained in the general announcement, otherwise they will be automatically excluded by the selection procedure:

  • a signed copy of the application obtained at the completion of the online procedure
  • a curriculum vitae including the correct denomination of the degree accomplished (required both for selection and grant awarding procedures)
  • whatever additional documents indicated in each single course profile contained in the general announcement

Furthermore applicants holding a foreign academic qualification must submit to the Ufficio Formazione permanente e continua:

  • the original documents (or certified copies) attesting the qualification possessed accompanied by an official translation following the authentication procedures in force in the Country where the title has been accomplished (or was obtained
  • Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco (Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification), issued by the Italian diplomatic representation of the Country where the title has been accomplished or a legalized Diploma Supplement for candidates who obtained the qualification in a EU country.


The results of the selection examinations  will be published on the university website through the online services (SIFA) > Graduatorie ammissione corsi post laurea > Graduatorie corsi di perfezionamento.

The general classification of merit published on the university’s website shall constitute due notice served on the interested parties, who shall receive no written communication whatsoever.

Admitted candidates must enrol within 5 working days from the publication of the short lists on the university website, through the online services (SIFA)  > Servizi di immatricolazioni ed iscrizione > Immatricolazioni > Immatricolazione ai Corsi di perfezionamento). They must also pay the enrollment fee indicated in the specific course announcement, using their credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or the bollettino MAV - payable only in Italy - printable at the end of the enrolment procedure online.

Foreign students must also submit copy of their taxcode (codice fiscale) to the Ufficio Formazione permanente e continua, and when non-Eu citizens,  they must also present their valid residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) in original.
