Admission to a Doctoral programme (PhD)


Participation in the competitive examination for admission to the doctoral programmes is open to candidates who hold a 2nd cycle degree (master-level) awarded by an accredited foreign university and can demonstrate an English language proficiency at least at Level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

All applicants are required to apply online within 4 September 2017 at 1 p.m, according to the following procedure:

  1. Register on the University portal. This operation is not necessary for those already registered on the portal or in possession of University log-in details (final year students or those who graduated from the University of Milan less than a year ago);
  2. Access the SIFA online admission services for Doctorates, using own log-in details
  3. Fill in the online application
  4. Pay the non-refundable fee of €50.00  by credit card or using the MAV form which will be generated by the online service.

The online application cannot be modified or supplemented with further documentation once it has been confirmed.

It is possible to apply for a number of PhD courses provided that applicants register properly for each of them, by the methods described above, including payment of the non-refundable fee of €50.00 for each application submitted.

Ranking lists are available from the date stated in each call for applications on SIFA online service  > Graduatorie ammissione corsi post laurea.
