NEW Application to 2015/2016 Master programmes: procedures and deadlines.

1. Entry requirements

Admission to a Master programme is open to graduates who have at least a bachelor's degree (or equivalent).

Students enrolled in the final year can be admitted as long as they graduate by 31 december or by the date established by the course.

2. Applying for a Master programme without entrance examination

Admission application: deadline and procedures
The application must be submitted online, within 10 September 2015, following these steps:

1) Register to UNIMI  (if you're not yet registered to the portal)
2) Login to SIFA online services and choose Servizi di ammissione - Admission > Master programmes without entrance examination
3) Pay the admission fee (30 euro), with Credit Card (Visa or Mastercard), while applying on line (or MAV, if living in Italy)
4) Upload the following documents (others could be required for the chosen course) in .jpg .pdf .rtf file:

  • Degree certificate and transcript: graduation certificate(s) issued by the competent University and transcript(s) recording exams taken, grades and credits 
  • Passport - personal data: copy of the page with personal details
  • Letter of motivation
  • Curriculum vitae

Unless differently required by the chosen course, documents can be produced in one of the following languages: Italian, English, French, Spanish and German.

Applicants who will graduate by 31 December 2015 can be admitted.

VERY IMPORTANT: non-EU citizens resident abroad who do not have an Italian residence permit, must also submit their formal pre-application to the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country, by the annually established deadline.


Evaluation exam

Candidates eligible for admission could be asked to take an interview or a test aimed at verifying their own qualification.
Dates and detailed information about the exam will be available on the faculties and courses websites.

The interview could be held via web, according to the procedures specified by the individual degree programmes at their respective websites. In this case dates and times of the interview will be arranged case by case by e-mail or phone.

The results of the evaluation will be communicated to the candidates by e-mail, usually within one month.

How to Enrol
Enrolment is online, within 15 October 2015:
1) login to SIFA online services and choose Servizi di immatricolazione e iscrizione > IMMATRICOLAZIONE
3) enter the required details and upload a photo and an identity document (JPG, PNG, BMP max 2 Mb)
4) pay the first instalment of the enrolment fee using your credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or the bollettino MAV printable at the end of the enrolment procedure online. The bollettino MAV can be paid at any bank in Italy.
5) deliver the required documents to the International Students Desk.

Required documents(please bring the original and make a copy for the office):

  • 1st level degree along with the Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco or Diploma Supplement
  • passport/identity card
  • taxcode (codice fiscale)
  • admission fee receipt
  • enrolment fee receipt Italian 
  • Form A (only for non EU-citizens resident abroad)
  •  valid residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) for non-EU citizens

3. Applying for a Master programme with entrance examination

Admission application: deadline and procedures
Applicants must register online to the competitive examination, within the deadline and following the instructions set in each course's call for applications:

  1. Register to UNIMI (if you're re not yet registered to the portal)
  2. Login to SIFA online services and choose Servizi di ammissione - Admissions > Lauree magistrali ad accesso programmato - Master programmes with an entrance examination
  3. Upload the required documents
  4. Pay the admission fee (30 Euro) using your credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or the bollettino MAV printable at the end of the admission procedure online. The bollettino MAV can be paid at any bank in Italy.


Non-EU citizens residing abroad,
who do not have an Italian residence permit, must also submit their formal pre-application to the Italian Embassy or Consulate in their country.


Ranking lists
The ranking lists are available logging in to SIFA online services and selecting Graduatorie ammissioni corsi di laurea.

 

How to Enrol

  1. Login to SIFA online services and choose Enrolment
  2. enter the required details and upload a photo and an identity document (JPG, PNG, BMP max 2 Mb)

4. Applying for a 1st level vocational master

The application must be done through the proper service online by the deadline specified in the competitive examination announcement(Italian text), with the following steps:

  1. register to UNIMI (if you're re not yet registered to the portal)
  2. login to online services  and choose Servizi di ammissione "admission" > Ammissione ai corsi post laurea > Master
  3. enter the required details and upload a photo and an identity document (JPG, PNG, BMP max 2 Mb)
  4. pay the admission fee (50 euro) using your credit card (Visa or Mastercard) or the bollettino MAV printable at the end of the enrolment procedure online. The bollettino MAV can be paid at any bank in Italy.
  5. deliver the following documents to the Ufficio Dottorati di ricerca e Master universitari:
    - a copy of the enrolment receipt
    - a certificate issued by the foreign university showing the examinations passed
    - a Curriculum Vitae

The dates of the entrance examinations, where applicable, are published in the competitive examination announcement   

How to Enrol

Admitted students must enrol within 5 days from the publication of the short list, following these steps:

  1. login to online services  (with unimi registration credential)
  2. choose Servizi di immatricolazione e iscrizione > Immatricolazioni > Immatricolazione ai Master

They are required to submit the following documents to the Ufficio Dottorati di ricerca e Master universitari:  

  • Italian taxcode (codice fiscale)
  • passport/identity card 
  • receipt for payment
  • an original  bachelor degree certificate, translated into Italian by an official translator, authenticated by the authorities of the country in which it was issued and accompanied by a Dichiarazione di Valore in Loco (Certificate of Equivalence of Qualification) from the Italian Embassy of the same country.
  • valid residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) for non-EU citizens

5. Withdrawal

Those who wish to withdraw from enrolment for personal reasons can do so at any time, addressing the  withdrawal notice to the University Rector.

If the withdrawal is made before the start of the course, you will have the right to a refund of enrolment and course fees.  However, 10% of the amount paid will be withheld to cover administration costs.

To obtain a refund, you must complete the special form  and attach the original payment receipt.
