Course Objectives

The master degree programme in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine is designed to equip graduates with an advanced capacity to develop scientific methodologies, and the competencies required to coordinate national and international-level study and research projects in compliance with ethical and bioethical considerations.

Graduates also possess in-depth knowledge of the biotechnological sectors applied to fields of medical interest, in a modern approach to translational medicine.

In particular, the course builds upon the genetic and molecular bases of conditions and the physiopathology of the diseased human body, providing the requisite skills to develop diagnostic pathways and curative strategies based on the use of biotechnologies.

These competences are underpinned by a firm grounding in computing, biophysical technology, nanotechnology and pharmacology, placing graduates at the centre of preclinical trials on the molecular pathogenesis of human diseases and the definition of new curative approaches.

Career and Employment

Graduates from the master degree in Medical Biotechnology and Molecular Medicine can pursue careers in the following professional fields:

  • educational and research activities in public and private universities
  • scientific research and technological development in public facilities (National Health Institute, Science Research Council (CNR), Institute for Treatment and Research (IRCCS), Health Research Institutions, Teaching Hospitals)
