Fifth edition of the Milan Summer School in "Cost-benefit Analysis of Investment Projects. The new Programming Period 2014-2020" that will be held at Palazzo Greppi, in the heart of Milan from 8 to 11 of September 2015.

The School - organized by the University of Milan in partnership with CSIL, Centre for Industrial Studies and supported by the network EUsers – as been fine-tuned with consideration for the recent developments in EU polices and methodology for cost benefit analysis and the international best practice, and builds on the considerable experience gained in project preparation and appraisal during the previous programming periods of the Cohesion Policy.

The School targets a wide range of users, with a training methods that will consist of  face-to-face lessons and  hands-on sessions.The School faculty consists of experts from the team involved in the preparation of the new edition of the Guide to Cost Benefit Analysis of Investment Projects, including its authors, technical advisors and academic peer reviewers.

Up to 10 participants will be selected amongst PhD, master and/or post-doc students who must meet the following eligibility and selection criteria:

  • have EU citizenship or that of a candidate country or potential candidate (preferences will be dedicated to the latter groups)
  • be under the age of 32
  • hold at least a Master's degree in economics, engineering or social sciences
  •  have a proven research record in the following subjects: welfare economics; industry, infrastructure and growth; regional development; regulation and privatisation, public policy
  • possess an excellent knowledge of English and of standard office tools, in particular Excel.

In evaluating the résumé and background of candidates, knowledge of other foreign languages, previous work experiences and the possession of further academic qualifications are considered definite assets.
