Disabled Students Support

The University of Milan’s Disability Service promotes the social integration of disabled students and University staff, providing them with assistance and protecting their rights. More specifically, it provides the following services:

  • Administrative assistance: help with the completion of forms (enrolments and applications, exemptions from university fees, scholarships, certificate requests).
  • Helpers to accompany disabled students to different parts of the University (university buildings, lecture halls, libraries, secretariats). Students can also be accompanied to bus/tram stops and train stations near the University.
  • Educational assistance: procurement of textbooks, lecture notes and lesson materials, with particular reference to the loan system that is available to all enrolled students.
  • Psycho-pedagogical counselling and guidance. An expert, with a degree in Education Sciences and specialising in disability issues, is on hand to offer disabled students advice and pointers regarding study methods and the use of learning aids and materials. He/she will also be able to offer guidance on internship opportunities and services provided by public and private institutions and companies to promote the integration of disabled persons into the world of work.
  • Contacts with teaching staff and university institutions (arranging appointments with professors, entering examinations, contacts with secretariats and institutes).

All students requesting services must submit documentation of a disability translated into Italian.
