Science and Technology

The Area of Science and Technology encompasses research and educational activities in the areas of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, informatics, earth sciences and related interdisciplinary topics. It was established at the time of the foundation of the University of Milan in 1925.

Since then, the scientific community has taken shape, and it now comprises 500 members (full professors, associate professors and researchers). The Area currently offers study opportunities to approximately 9000 students per year, at all appropriate levels.

The teaching and research opportunities are closely linked to high-quality scientific production. Research activities cover a wide spectrum, ranging from the study of basic scientific problems to subjects with direct industrial applications.
