Learning objectives
The course aims to provide students with:
i) references to the anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of the nervous system;
ii) knowledge of the semeiotic aspects of the main neurological syndromes and diseases of the nervous system also in medical, surgical and rehabilitative therapeutic foundations.
Expected learning outcomes
The student knows:
i) the clinical neuroanatomy and physiopathology of the nervous system; ii) neurological examination and its interpretation, instrumental diagnostic methods of neurological interest;
iii) the diseases of the nervous system in their epidemiological, genetic, neuropathological, pathophysiological, clinical and therapeutic aspects.

Course syllabus
Introduction to Neurological Rehabilitation.
The individual neurological rehabilitation project.
The nociceptive and neuropathic pain.
The physiological basis of neurological rehabilitation: neuroplasticity and the mirror-neuron system.
The neuromotor and neurocognitive rehabilitation.
The rehabilitation of cerebro-vascular pathologies.
The rehabilitation of the main neurological disorders.
Teaching methods
The teaching metods consist of frontal lessons, usually with the help of slides, and of practical teaching by attending the activities of the ward and the out-patient service under the guide of the teachers and of the tutors.
