Learning objectives
This course aims at reinforcing the students' ability to understand contemporary China by learning crucial events and trends in the history of the country in the last century and by studying the structure and functions of the state institutions. The students will be required to do some team work in order to elaborate and present to the class some materials on these topics and to watch movies, in order to train their critical abilities and their communicative skills.
Students will strengthen their knowledge on the Chinese material culture, especially in terms of socio-political structures. In the learning process, students will refine their critical capacities through the analysis of contemporary China dominant discursive strategies about socio-spatial, historic and political conditions of the country.
