Expected learning outcomes
Knowledge and understanding:
The student shall prove to have gained a basic knowledge of the comparative method and of the fundamental features of the major legal traditions in their historical and contemporary evolution.
Applying knowledge and understanding:
The student shall be able to demonstrate how to apply the comparative method and has become aware of the actual findings established by the comparative doctrine, in consideration of the divergences and convergences of the major legal traditions and of the main contemporary legal systems.
Making Judgment:
The student shall prove to have gained analytical and reasoning skills with regards to the topics discussed throughout the course, with particular focus on the cases and materials debated in class.
Communication Skill:
The student shall be able to express legal concepts and make use of legal doctrines with argumentative ability, sound use of the language and strong awareness of the problems arising from a legal translation.
Learning Skill:
The student shall prove to have understood the main features of the different legal traditions, their similarities and differences.
