Learning objectives
The course aims to develop reading and writing abilities and metalinguistic reflection through the use of descriptive, narrative and instructional texts. It also seeks to provide a basic sociolinguistic panorama of contemporary Italian and a panorama of italian language outside Italy. The exercises provide activities to improve listening and speaking skills.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course a student will be able to produce and understand clear and well structured descriptions, narratives and instructions. He/she will furthermore be able to identify the main information in a text and reorganise it both orally and in writing. He/she will be aware of the diamesic, diatopic, diastratic and, diaphasic varieties of Italian and of its evaluation outside Italy.
