To know the molecular basis of the following neurodegenerative disorders: Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Mitochondrial Encephalomyopathies
To evaluate the in vitro and in vivo experimental model of genetically defined neurodegenerative diseases

Syllabus
The aims of this course will be to provide basic knowledge allowing the student to understand imaging techniques in clinical and pre-clinical neuroscience imaging.
In particular the most important imaging techniques for the study of CNS will be reported (MRI, fMRI, PET/SPET) and their main applications. The most important tracers will be also described for the study of perfusion, metabolism and receptor expression or neurotransmitter biosynthesis, within different diseases.
