Students will be able to compute the basic invarinats of number fields (class group, group of units) and to translate basic problems in number theory in the abstract

Number Theory (first part)
Course syllabus
The first part of the course will cover the basics of algebraic number theory: finitness of the class group, the structure theorem of the group of units. The second part, more advanced, will consist in an introduction to Dirichlet series, L-functions and class field theory.
