Course syllabus
The aim is to study the nutritional management of polygastric animals with particular references to the feed characteristics, the type of feeding and the relationship between nutrition, animal welfare and farming management.

Digestive process in polygastic animals
Characteristics of raw materials
Concepts of diet formulation: from wet weight to dry matter
Diet formulation in lactating cow

Objectives of the course are to provide to the students an overview of nutritional interventions that can affect food of animal origin quality. Role of micronutrient will be also addressed.

- Nutritional interventions in non-ruminants for improving products quality
