The course aims to equip students with a broad and solid preparation in the cultural studies relative to the Francophone area. This approach will use texts (literary, theoretical , visual) in a semiotic and transdisciplinary perspective, in order to make the student master the tools to understand and compare the cultural and cross-cultural phenomena in and among the areas examined ( the Caribbean , Africa, Europe ).
Expected learning outcomes
The methodological contribution of cultural studies and practices will allow the student to highlight and understand the relationships between culture, discursive strategies, social phenomena , mass communication, production and consumption of cultural products. Aesthetics, ideology and socio-historical phenomena will be analyzed through the study of some texts. The survey takes root as a priority in the contemporary world, in order to identify practices that could possibly shape models for the future understanding of reality.
