The Health Physics Course intends to introduce the problems related to the Health Physics and Radiation Protection providing the basics that are declined in the more operational aspects related to this branch.
Historical origins and aims of the Health Physics and Radiation Protection; Duties of the Health Physicist and Radioprotection Professional Employee in industrial, research and hospital field; Measurement Unit of radiological and operational radiological definitions; Ionizing radiation, decay, nuclear reactions; Radiation sources, natural and artificial isotopes, machines for the production of the artificial Radioactivity; Interaction of radiation with matter; Biological effects of radiation; Theory of radiation dosimetry and operational dosimetry; Measurement techniques of radioactive fields and measurement of mixed fields; Radioactive contamination of gases, liquids, solids and surfaces; Legislation and Italian regulations.
