Learning objectives
Primary aim of the course is the acquisition of those historical, political, economic and cultural aspects of Japan that contributed to its inclusion in the international scenery since the end of '800; in particular, the course aims to propose alternative analyzes of issues such as 'Japanese fascism' and the movements for the rights of the working classes.
Expected learning outcomes
After completing the course and having acquired a clear view of the conditions for the Japanese involvement in World War II, the student will have enhanced his/her analytical and critical skills about the dynamics of the modern history of Japan, also developing his/her ability in alternative formulations.
