- 1. General anatomical and functional organization of the central and peripheral nervous system
-2. Principles of physiopathology of motor and sensory functions: central versus peripheral paralysis , muscular tone, deep reflexes, coordination, hypokinesia and bradikynesia, main types of sensory deficit
- 3. Basic knowledge of the main diseases deriving from focal central nervous lesions: vascular occlusion and haemorrhage, neoplasia, multiple sclerosis
-4. Basic knowledge of the main diseases of the peripheral nervous system: neuropathies (in particular as a complication of diabetes and alcoholism). Basic knowledge of the autonomic disturbances associated to diabetes
-5. Basic knowledge of the main degenerative diseases of the central nervous system: Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, Motoneuron diseases.
