APPLIED PHYSICS

AIMS OF THE COURSE
The course is aimed at
· enforcing the methodology of physics, and the scientific approach to problems.
· conveying the fundamental principles of physics and their implications in the biomedical field, with particular reference to topics of relevance for the following courses: forces and equilibrium, work and energy, conservation principles, mechanics of fluids, surface tension, principles of thermodynamics, basic concepts of electricity and magnetism, electromagnetic radiation.
· teaching how to solve simple problems on topics directly related to the biomedical field and how to give qualitative and quantitative estimates of phenomena.

In the first part of the course mathematics concepts will be recalled, applied to solving physics problems.
