Learning objectives
The course is intended as an introduction to specialized translation from and into the Russian language. The theoretical part of the course offers fundamental concepts and current issues of international translation studies with emphasis on slavistic literature. The practical part helps to develop both basic translation techniques and abilities in intralinguistic reformulation in the target language.
Expected learning outcomes
The students become familiar with fundamental aspects of the translation process. They will be able to apply different methods, strategies and tools used in specialized translation. After completing the course the student will build up the skills level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference.
