Learning objectives
The course aims to analyze some aspects of today's Spanish language, its main varieties and its diffusion in the world, with special attention to Spanish phonetics and phonology, word-formation and languages for specific purposes, seen through the mediation of the media.
It has a theoretical and practical approach, focusing on text analysis. The objective is to develop critical reading and metalinguistic awareness skills. In parallel, the acquisition of basic grammatical structures of Spanish will be promoted, in order to develop a threshold competence in oral and written communication in a wide range of themes.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students are expected to obtain the B1 level of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), in reading, listening, speaking and writing skills. They will also be able to analyze autonomously the main functional and lexical aspects of a text.
