Il corso si propone di fornire agli studenti i principali campi di applicazione della geologia applicata: a) alla gestione del territorio in termini di prevenzione dai rischi geologici e b) a supporto della progettazione di opere ingegneristiche a forte potenziale di impatto ambientale.

GEOLOGICAL ENGINEERING
Engineering geology for environmental planning (prevention)
- analysis and identification of landslide susceptibility areas (parametric methods, point and count system, statistical approach)
- groundwater vulnerability evaluation (parametric methods, analitycal and numerical solution, statistical methods)
- Regional groundwater resources management and protection
- principles of micro seismic zonation

Engineering geology for civil engineering (design)
- underground works (hydraulic tunnel and transport tunnel)
- landfill (site selection and characterization, monitoring)
- artifical basins (retention basins, infiltration basins)
