Course syllabus
Introduction to spectroscopic techniques. Elemental analysis techniques: optical atomic spectroscopy, atomic mass spectrometry.. Molecular analysis techniques: IR and Raman vibrational spectroscopies, UV-visible absorption spectroscopy, molecular luminescence, nuclear magnetic resonance, molecular mass spectrometry. Principles of instrumental analysis based on chromatographic separations, application to hyphenated techniques.
Laboratory of analytical chemistry II
Course syllabus
Choosing criteria for analytical methods. Calibration procedures. Instrumentation and sample treatment for the most used instrumental analytical techniques (atomic absorption and emission spectroscopy, UV-visible, IR, Raman and NMR molecular spectroscopies, mass spectrometry, GC and HPLC). Experiments of quantitative analysis by means of the instrumental techniques presented in the lessons.
