PROGRAM:
Anatomy of the nervous system;
physiology of excitable cells;
communication between nerve cells (synapses);
learning and synaptic plasticity;
Organization of motor and sensory systems;
sense organs:
sight and hearing;
EEG and sleep;
neurophysiological basis of consciousness.

PROGRAM:
Neuroanatomy;
principals of neuromodulation;
neuroimaging;
language;
attention;
memory;
syndrome caused by lesions of the frontal lobes;
neuropsychological evaluation
This unit will focus on the functional anatomy of the brain and its relation with the cognitive processes. The functional anatomy of the attentional, emotional, learning and memory, language, decisional and cognitive processes will be analysed also in relation with the alterations occurring in pathological conditions.
