Aims of the course To bring the Student to the knowledge of the organization and functional activity of the cell, animal tissue, general embryology and anatomy of livestock species. The notions imparted are propaedeutic to the study of Physiology.
Examination procedure One written and one oral tests.
Organization of the course 48 lecture hours and 16 practical training hours.
Histology (22 hours) Histogenesis and differentiation. Epithelial tissues. Connective tissues. Basic components. Ordinary and Special Connective tissues. Unilocular and multilocular adipose tissue. Cartilage tissue. Bone tissue. Blood: general and morphology of erythrocytes, granulocytes, monocytes, lymphocytes, platelets. Muscle tissues. Nerve tissue. Neuron: general structure and function. Synapses. Glial cells.
Anatomy (26 hours) Anatomical terminology, planes and axes of reference, regions and cavities of the body. Integumentary system. Locomotor apparatus: general organization, architecture and structure of bones and muscles. Digestive system of monogastric and ruminants. Urinary system. Reproductive system. Cardiovascular system: heart and general organization of circulatory system. Anatomy of the respiratory system. General organization of the nervous system. Gametogenesis. Fertilization. Principles of early embryogenesis. Segmentation and gastrulation in birds and mammals. Fetal membranes in domestic mammals and placentation.
