Course syllabus
The aim of the course is to introduce students to the assessment of the economic effects of the policies promoted by the EU in network industries, and more generally in the service of general economic interest. We will consider privatization, vertical disintegration, liberalization, regulation, and will examine the consequences in terms of social welfare. The course is completed with the introduction of some statistical concepts to examine empirically the effect of these policies.
The programme will introduce the students to regulatory reforms promoted by the EU in nework industries, particularly energy and telecoms.
