Learning objectives
The course aims to equip students with a broad and solid preparation in the cultural studies relative to the Francophone area. This approach will consider texts (literary, theoretical , visual) in a semiotic and transdisciplinary perspective, in order to make the student master the tools to understand and compare the cultural and cross-cultural phenomena in and among the areas examined (Continental America, the Caribbean Islands, Africa and Europe) .
Expected learning outcomes
The methodological contribution of cultural studies and practices will allow the student to highlight and understand the relationships between culture, discursive strategies, social phenomena, mass communication, production and consumption of cultural products. Aesthetics, ideology and socio-historical phenomena will be analyzed through the study of some texts. The survey takes root as a priority in the contemporary world, in order to identify practices that could possibly shape models for the future understanding of reality.
