Learning objectives
This course aims to provide class members with the necessary knowledge and tools which will allow them to understand and position themselves critically with regard to a variety of issues related to refugees.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the course, students will be equipped with both the historical, political, and legal knowledge necessary to understand the main challenges involving the legal and institutional protection of refugees. They will also have learned how to analyze the protection of refugees under a sustainable development perspective and to use the procedural tools which allow to differentiate refugees from other migrants, e.g. internally displaced persons (IDPs) and economic and environmental migrants.
