Theory and technique of legal interpretation

Learning objectives
The course will focus on legal reasoning and on the arguments used in legal interpretation, with regard to our and other legal systems (of civil and common law). Some lessons will develop the main problems about reasoning based on evidence.
Teaching methods adopted: a) lessons of the professor; b) study and discussion of jurisprudence, legal doctrine and legal decisions.
Expected learning outcomes
The teaching aims to ensure that students:
knowing the techniques of legal interpretation and the basic elements of reasoning based on evidence;
knowing the problems related to legal interpretation;
working out appropriate analysis of legal argumentation;
knowing to use appropriate language in the discussion of legal problems.

For non attending students, the examination will focus on the text:

Assessment methods
The exam will be oral.
