Learning objectives
The course aims at the study of Galois Theory and at introducing some basic Algebraic Number Theory .
Expected learning outcomes
Students will be able to compute the Galois group of a Galois field extension and the lattice of subfields. They will have working knowledge of
cyclotomic and finite fields.

They will be able to determine the ring of integers and some invariants of number fields (such as the discriminant, inertia and ramification indices).

2. Fundamental Theorem of Galois Theory.
3. Finite fields. Cyclotomic fields. Solvability by radicals.
4. Introduction to Algebraic Number Theory.
