Learning objectives
For attending students
Ist D.U.
The first part of the first didactic unit aims to discuss in depth the political consciousness of the African citizens after the decolonization process, highlighting the ambiguities derived from the inheritance of decentralized States, functional to the interests of a foreign "Mother Country", as the colonial States have been up to the independence. The aim is a critical knowledge of the subject. The second part will be dedicated to the Cold war era in Sub-Saharan Africa.
IInd D.U.
The first part of the second didactic unit will face the Sub-Saharan resource management both within the global context and the regional dynamics, in order to face the presentations and discussion of the case-studies that groups of students will present in the second part. The students who will be able to produce in advance (by the 7th of June 2015) a satisfactory written case-study (based upon a literature agreed with the lecturer) to be discussed with the classmates will see reduced by one third the program of the oral examination.
