Lo scopo del corso è quello di permettere allo studente l'acquisizione di conoscenze fondamentali sulla funzione, lo sviluppo e le dinamiche dei principali comportamenti del cane e del gatto, sulle loro capacità mentali e su come queste nozioni debbano essere utilizzate per garantire il benessere di questi animali nell'ambito di una gestione corretta. Il corso mira anche ad introdurre lo studente nelle realtà professionali in cui possa far fruttare le conoscenze teoriche acquisite

Frontal lessons (2 credits)
Ethology: introduction and practical applications in commercial and social activities involving dogs and cats (2 hours)
The domestication of dogs and cats (3 hours)
Physiological and behavioural development of the puppy and kitten (5 hours)
Modal action patterns in canine and feline companions: social, sexual and parental behaviour (6 hours)

Practice (1 credit)
Simulated canine assisted interventions (4 hours)
Methods of education and training of service and sporting dogs (e.g., AAI dog, agility dog, mobility) (12 hours)
NON-ATTENDING STUDENTS
