Unit 1
Course syllabus
Dairy cattle production: calf management, reproduction and fertility, heifer rearing, weaning, dairy cattle feeding, dairy cattle health and welfare, new herd system. Beef cattle production: management and feeding of the main beef cattle categories (veal calves, bulls), cow-calf production systems, beef cattle health and welfare, transportation and slaughtery critical point. Organic livestock system.

Unit 2
Course syllabus
The unit 2 of the course focuses on the husbandry and feeding techniques of goats, sheep and buffaloes (Bubalus bubalis). The course highlights the aspects of environmental sustainability, animal welfare and milk quality and safety. The program includes some technical visits to buffalo and goat farms
