The master aims at training managers able to address the issues relating to rural development under different profiles: technical, social, economic, institutional.
In particular, rural development is still a highly priority process in many parts of the world, where local communities rely on the agricultural sector, a sector that requires continuous adaptation to respond to the challenges of globalization, population growth, natural and anthropogenic threats. Furthermore, the development of rural communities must be directed towards paths of environmental, social and economic sustainability, the only guarantee of a lasting and solid balance with the available resources and with the institutional, cultural and natural context
Il corso si rivolge a tutti i possessori delle classi di laurea ex D.M. 270/2004: L-02 Biotecnologie; L-06 Geografia; L-07 Ingegneria Civile e Ambientale; L-13 Scienze Biologiche; L-18 Scienze dell'Economia e della Gestione Aziendale; L-21 Scienze della Pianificazione Territoriale, Urbanistica, Paesaggistica e Ambientale; L-25 Scienze e Tecnologie Agrarie e Forestali; L-26 Scienze e Tecnologie Agro-Alimentari; L-32 Scienze e Tecnologie per l'Ambiente e la Natura; L-33 Scienze economiche; L-36 Scienze Politiche e delle Relazioni Internazionali; L-37 Scienze Sociali per la Cooperazione, lo Sviluppo e la Pace; L-38 Scienze Zootecniche e Tecnologie delle Produzioni Animali. È richiesta inoltre la conoscenza della lingua inglese.

Possono inoltre presentare domanda di ammissione anche i laureandi nelle medesime discipline purché conseguano il diploma di laurea entro la data di inizio del corso e comunque non oltre tre mesi dalla data di avvio dello stesso. In tal caso, la partecipazione al corso verrà disposta "con riserva" e il candidato sarà tenuto ad autocertificare, a pena di decadenza, il possesso della laurea entro trenta giorni dalla data di conseguimento.
The operator in such contexts must therefore possess the keys to understanding the reality in which he/she acts and to favor processes of self-development, empowerment, construction of social and institutional capital. For this reason, the purpose of the Master in "Cooperation for Rural and Agri-food Sustainable Development" is to primarily provide the technical skills to help design and implement rural, agricultural and agri-food development interventions in countries with limited resources and, at the same time, provide the tools to decode and interpret the social, institutional and economic context in order to orient development paths and related projects and interventions towards sustainability.
