The course offers an introduction to the analysis of decisions under risk, and the fundamentals of non-cooperative game theory. It provides the basic tools to examine individual choice under risk, and under strategic interactions with other individuals. The applications of the theory range from labor to credit markets, from insurance to macroeconomics, from market regulation to policy design. When possible, examples from these fields will be provided.
Knowledge of Microeconomic Theory and Mathematical analysis (multivariate calculus and optimization).
For first year students - Mandatory for Economics PhD students.
