Coherently with the purposes and interdisciplinary nature of the doctoral course, the course deals with the pivotal role of Dante's poem in XIX and early XX Century italian culture, art and society. Students will be given an in-depth overview of prime examples of literary (and popular) texts and librettos derived from Comedy's episodes, analysed in their re-use and recurrence. Students will be given as well the chance to evaluate the impact of the poem on Fine Arts, both in the selection of the subjects and their artistical execution, and in the definition of Dante's image in sculpture.

How to enrol


The course enrolment deadline is usually the 25th day of the month prior to the start date. More specifically:

  • 27 December 2021 for courses starting in January 2022
  • 25 January 2022 for courses starting in February 2022
  • 25 February 2022 for courses starting in March 2022.

Deadlines for enrolment in other courses will be announced as soon as possible.

  2. Select the desired programme and click on Registration (Iscrizione) and then on Register (Iscriviti)

Ignore the option "Exam session date” that appears during the enrolment procedure.
