Visiting scholars and scientists

Visiting scholars or scientists are suitably qualified scholars, Italian or foreign, who are affiliated with foreign universities or research institutes and undertake research activities or collaborative work and scientific exchange at the University of Milan.
During their stay, visiting scholars or scientists shall occasionally hold certified training activities for degree programmes or doctoral programmes, irrespective of the measure of their commitment.

How to award the title of visiting scholar or visiting scientist

The request to award the title may be made by the department or doctoral programme, through a decision of its Council.

The head of the university structure to which the visiting scholar or scientist is assigned must subsequently notify the Rector in a letter, to which he/she must attach the visitor's CV and a document indicating the period/duration of the stay and the main research activity to be undertaken.
