Learning objectives
L'obiettivo è quello di formare il neo-veterinario in modo che al termine del percorso di studi sia in grado di inserirsi efficacemente, con competenze cliniche, sanitarie, nutrizionali e gestionali, in ogni settore dell'allevamento intensivo.
Allo studente verranno trasmesse le basi teoriche e un insieme di nozioni pratiche e tecniche relative agli aspetti preponderanti della professione veterinaria, soprattutto per quei settori zootecnici che ancora offrono numerosi sbocchi lavorativi.

Syllabus
OBJECTIVES: analysis of beef cattle nutrition and management practices with practical approach, aimed to find the main critical points e the proper practices to control them, in order to improve animal health, welfare and performance under rearing conditions.
STRUCTURE OF COURSE:
Lectures:
· Practical analysis of the main critical points of beef cattle rearing system
· How to find the main critical points e how to approach them to plan specific management strategies
· Nutritional and management strategies for critical phases
· Proper animal handling
· Use of practical tools to evaluate animal response to the different nutritional and management approaches: welfare assessment check list and feces sieving
Practical training:
· Farmer expectation, needs and how to interact with him
· Diet formulation and risk factor indicators (BCS, Fecal Score, Rumen fill, health status)
· Farm visits:
· How to collect the proper information (animal observation, which info ask to the breeder)
· Practical animal handling
· Diet evaluation, critical points individuation and management
· How to make an effective report for the farmer

This course has as its objective to give practical knowledge of health management of poultry farming and the rabbit from income, the lessons provide practical knowledge in anatomic room and a visit to breeding
