Learning objectives
The course aims to provide basic elements of knowledge and critical insights of the following issues:
A) The changes in the law, comparing the model of the legal modernity, in the era of globalization as regards the modes of production of the rules and their application and interpretation in the regulation of social relations and in the recognition and protection of human rights.
B) The different concepts of legal pluralism from those developed during colonial and postcolonial settings up to those formulate today in Western Societies, and the interrelations between legal pluralism and the universalistic perspective of human rights, focusing, in particular, on the european multicultural contexts. Particular attention will be paid to the relationship between immigration, deviance and cultural diversity.
