Carbon materials, nanomaterials, thin-film: chemistry, characterization and coating technologies
Fundamental aspects of structure, properties and synthesis of carbon materials, nanomaterials and thin films. Advanced topics on novel applications that leverage carbon interfacial properties, in particular electrochemistry and catalysis. Methods in thin-film technology and characterization, including selected topics in coating technologies, surface modification and interfacial characterization. Topics will include a selection among: physical vapour deposition methods, functional organic films, reflectance methods for thin-film/layer determinations, scanning probe techniques, Photoemission methods, wetting and surface free energy determinations.
