Terrestrial carbonates: diversity, biogeochemistry, and novel approaches of their genesis
Terrestrial carbonates of the vadose zone represent typical scientific objects of the interface between the biosphere, the geosphere, the hydrosphere, and atmosphere. The precise critical study of their characterization and their genesis allows faithful reconstructions of the paleoenvironments in which they were formed. The aim of this course is to provide a large view of the various facies encountered in vadose carbonates, to propose different ways to study them, and to discuss their genesis and potential value for paleoenvironmental reconstructions.
