Obiettivi formativi
Over the last decade, a new wave of entrepreneurial ferment has taken hold around the globe, motivated by the search for new, sustainable solutions to complex social problems. This Lab is intended to familiarize students with the challenges and opportunities of social entrepreneurship, providing knowledge and tools to sustain social opportunity identification and exploitation. It will address social planning along the stages of entrepreneurial discovery, with a focus on hybrid business models and supportive ecosystems. Leveraging on the variety of current experiences and perspectives, theory and practice of social entrepreneurship will be articulated throughout the course, combining traditional lectures, active learning, project works and interaction with professionals in the field.

Programma
The laboratory will be organized as a set of workshops on the following topics:
- Social Entrepreneurship definition and boundaries
- The role of innovation in social enterprise
- Social business models and hybrid organizations
- Strategies for growth and scaling up to maximize social value creation

Suggested propaedeutic courses: Management, Management of Innovation, Performance management and control systems
Prerequisiti e modalità di esame
To feel comfortable in this course, students should have general background in management, organization and business planning.
Attendance is compulsory. Students will receive a pass or fail evaluation based on group works and class participation.
Metodi didattici
The course is based on active teaching methodologies aimed at maximizing students' participation. Traditional lectures will be limited, while emphasis will be given to individual and group projects on real cases and social business games.
