Course Objectives

The Cultural Heritage Studies degree programme offers broad, sufficient training in concepts relating to Cultural Heritage.

On the strength of their advanced knowledge and competences, Cultural Heritage Studies graduates are equipped to pursue careers in the following fields:

  • research, cataloguing, conservation, protection, the optimisation and protection of cultural heritage, particularly the history of art, from the medieval period to modern day
  • artistic heritage research, conservation and protection methodologies, through training of a humanistic-historical nature
  • the protection and conservation of archaeological heritage, through training of a humanistic and historic nature which involves the use of cutting-edge investigative techniques, including computing methods
  • archival and library heritage, through targeted training of a humanistic and historic nature also involving the use of telematics and computer tools
  • theatre, live performance, cinema and music.

Completion of the degree programme also provides an initial entry point for further university study.



Career and Employment

Training in the field of cultural heritage equips graduates to pursue the following professional roles:

  • archival, library, gallery, museum and theatre assistants and technicians
  • tourist entertainers, guides and other such roles
  • instructors and advisers in the field of cultural heritage management
  • experts in broadcasting, cinema and theatre production
  • tutors, vocational instructors and other such roles.
