Course Objectives

The master degree programme aims to provide European and Non-European Languages and Literature graduates with in-depth methodological, theoretic and scientific competences in one or two foreign European languages and literatures, from the context both of their country of origin and of other countries in which they have been most recently diffused.

While it does not comprise distinct curricula, the degree course enables students to form their own study plan following precise, coherent lines of study, with particular attention being placed on the most pertinent branches of study: philology, linguistics, literature, comparative study and translation.

Career and Employment

On the strength of their advanced knowledge and competences, European and Non-European Languages and Literature graduates are equipped to work, also in positions of high responsibility, in all sectors which require a mastery of multiple foreign languages, supported by a solid grounding in the humanities, particularly as highly skilled translators, linguists or editors.

The curriculum of the master degree in European and Non-European Languages and Literature is structured so as to provide an entry point to TFAs in teaching.
