Course Objectives

The master degree programme in Chemistry offers graduates:

  • solid basic training in the various fields of chemistry, covering both theoretic and experimental aspects
  • a good command of methods of scientific investigation
  • a sound knowledge of mathematical and computer support tools
  • the ability to work autonomously, and to assume a high degree of responsibility in projects and facilities
  • the techniques required to understand phenomena at the molecular level
  • specialist competences in a specific sector of chemistry and biochemistry
  • sector-specific knowledge of the latest chemical compound synthesis methodologies, such as medicines, bioorganic and bioinorganic molecules, new materials, homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysts
  • a solid grounding in the application of theoretic simulation and computational modelling methods to chemical systems. 

Career and Employment

Chemistry graduates can pursue careers in the promotion and development of scientific and technological innovation, and in technological management and design, and are qualified to assume positions of high responsibility in the following sectors: industry, environment, health, cultural heritage, and public administration.
