Course Objectives

The degree programme in Biology is designed to provide solid basic training in the principal sectors of biology and a good command of the methodologies and technologies connected with the related fields of scientific research.

It offers students the training required to assimilate scientific and technological advances and to understand and handle living organisms correctly.

Career and Employment

Biology graduates are able to work as part of a team with a set degree of autonomy, and quickly integrate themselves into working environments, both at a European and non-European level.

They are qualified to engage in professional occupations and techniques in various fields (bio-health, industry, nursery gardening, veterinary, agriculture and food, biotechnology, public and private research bodies) and in analysis, control and management services.

They can also enter roles in all public and private fields where it is necessary to classify, manage and utilise living organisms and their constituents and to deal with the relationship between development and environmental quality, in multidisciplinary professional firms dedicated to the evaluation of environmental impact, and to the development of projects geared at the conservation and rehabilitation of the environment and biodiversity.
