Course Objectives

The degree programme in Mathematics is designed to provide students with a firm basic grounding in the field of mathematics, enabling them to investigate the modern formulation of mathematical disciplines, engage with various aspects of the subject, of a general, methodological and applied nature, and develop the competences needed to assimilate future scientific advances in the field.

Career and Employment

The Mathematics degree programme equips graduates to pursue careers in public and private facilities which require aptitudes in abstract reasoning, the formalisation and/or modelling of concrete problems and their solution through the use of the multiple mathematical tools available.

In particular, graduates are qualified to enter positions in banks, insurance companies, survey institutes, consulting or certifying companies, software development and design companies, companies and centres that operate in the medical, biomedical and pharmacological fields, in the ecological sphere and in the research and development sections of large firms, as well as in the transport, telecommunications and aerospace sectors.

Graduates can also pursue further studies through a master's degree programme, such as the master's in Mathematics.
