Learning objectives
The course is intended to provide students with the basics of information and data management, with regard to the needs and goals connected to the functions and activities of language mediators. Notably, the course focuses on data modelling and on the organisation and use of data in spreadsheets, databases and web contents. Moreover, it covers some fundamentals of the architecture and operation of web applications.
Expected learning outcomes
By the end of the course, students will have acquired basic knowledge of data and digital content management, to the extent required for courses included in the following years of their study plan. Moreover, they will be familiar with the most common tools used by language mediators in their work activities.

The Course program is focused on the following topics (that are the same for attending or non-attending students):

o Computer networks
o The Internet network
o Web architecture and contents
o Blog, community and social network
Prerequisites for admission
The Course does not have prerequisites.
Teaching methods
The course will be provided with a number of frontal classes and with the support of slides. The presentation of the various notions is interspersed with explanatory examples. Interaction with students is stimulated through questions and possible exercises.

Assessment methods and Criteria
The examination consists in a written test which includes multiple-choice questions on all the topics explained during the course.
The test is evaluated with a score from 0 to 31 with a minimum of 18 to pass the test. The resulting score constitutes the final vote (the score 31 is equivalent to 30 cum laude).
The Academic Exam System (SIFA) is exploited by students for subscription to the final exam and for getting the results of taken exams.

The students must enroll to the exam using the Academic Exam System (UNIMIA). UNIMIA will be used by the teacher to communicate the results of the exam.
The examination method is the same also for non-attending students.
