Learning objectives
The laboratory, thanks also to the participation of teachers with different geographical and linguistic areas of specialisation, aims to provide participants with the necessary tools for a more in-depth knowledge of the socialist phenomenon in the MENA context. Students will thus have an additional key to understanding the great social, political and cultural changes affecting the Middle East of the 21st century. The drafting of a final paper in the form of a short essay will allow you to strengthen both your scientific research skills and the writing skills necessary for completing your academic studies.
Expected learning outcomes
At the end of the laboratory the students will have strengthened the so-called transversal skills that can be used in both academic and work contexts. First of all, the attention placed on the methodological aspect will allow us to refine the research techniques in the historical field, in particular in the MENA context, allowing us to grasp the crucial issues and historiographical questions of the topic of the laboratory. Secondly, the writing of the essay and the oral presentations that will be held at the end of the course will constitute an important exercise for the student who is preparing to conclude his/her university career. In fact, thanks to the simultaneous attention to both the content and methodological level, the participants will develop both research skills in the historical field and presentation skills which will be useful in the writing phase of the final thesis/thesis and in future academic contexts and/or working.
